Present Perfect
You can use present perfect to describe completed actions that have taken place in 'time up to now'.
We use the verb TO BE:
TO BE | |
I | have been |
You | have been |
He | has been |
She | has been |
It | has been |
We | have been |
You | have been |
They | have been |
Now, we need the verb in Past Participle:
Subject | Positive | Negative | Question |
---|---|---|---|
I / you / we / they | I have spoken. | I have not spoken . | Have I spoken? |
he / she / it | He has spoken. | He has not spoken. | Has he spoken? |
Examples:
-"Yes, I have. / No, I haven't".
-"Has your teacher even spoken to you in your own language?"
- "Yes, she has. / No, she hasn't".
*Note: You cannot use the present perfect if you want to describe when a completed action took place. You must use the Past Simple.
